I don't know, I saw 5+ inches of snow fall on my hometown (Texas City) in '04 and spent parts of the last two winters scraping ice off the windshield in NC. The novelty's worn off. It can stay 68 degrees however long it wants...right through next October would be great...we can wish, right?

Here is the latest NWS forecast...

Christmas Eve - Partly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers late. Morning low in the lower to middle 30s followed by an afternoon high in the middle to upper 50s.

Christmas Day - Partly sunny during the day, then a 30% chance of showers at night. The morning low will be near 40F with an afternoon high in the upper 50s.

This "coolish" weather is then expected to remain with us all the way through next weekend with highs only in the 50s to lower 60s and lows in the 30s and 40s. There will also be a partly to mostly cloudy sky and a slight rain chance on most days next week making it feel even cooler. This will definitely be a nice change from the recent warm spell we have been having!

Too bad this morning is not Christmas morning. It is currently 28F in my backyard, 32F at Bush Intercontinental, 30F in Tomball and 27F in Conroe (as of 7am 12/23). Brr!

Yeah, I left my house around 10 AM dressed for the weather and it had gotten considerably warmer by early afternoon. I wasn't quite ready to turn on the A/C though!

Well, I forgot to turn on the heater last night and I was NOT amused when I woke this morning. I've got a fire going and I'm still in my fuzzy slippers.

We have fireplaces for days like this, Wizzywig.

LOL! We were the same way! I totally didn't realize it would get so cold last night after such a warm day. My daughter's room was 65*F! We went and got her and all snuggled in our bed for a while so the house could get warm. It was fun!

Right now our outside temp is 67*F and our thermometer is in the sun. We won't forget to put the heater on tonight for sure!

It's actually a degree or two cooler in Houston right now than it is in DFW. It's 51 in Houston and 52 in DFW. It's supposed to get down to 31 tonight in DFW. It was 25 degrees this morning when I got up, but it warmed up really quick. The 25 degrees didn't feel cold though, because there was absolutely no wind.

The National weather service is calling for another freeze in Houston tonight (especially areas north and west of the city), so be prepared for a frosty Christmas Eve morning!

By the way, here is the latest Christmas forecast...

Christmas Eve - Mostly to partly sunny. Temperatures will start off near or below freezing during the morning and then warm into the middle to upper 50s during the afternoon.

Christmas Day - Mostly sunny early, then becoming mostly cloudy by the evening with a 20% chance of showers after 6pm. Temperatures will start in the middle 30s during the morning and then raise into the lower 60s during the afternoon.

Come on up to Minnesota! It's been snowing for the past two days. Our high tomorrow is supposed to be 21 degrees, before the windchill. We'll definitely be having a white Christmas along with temps in the teens. But come January we'll be well below zero for about two months. Coldest it's been here (that I've experienced) is 35 to 40 below! Now that is cold! Ten below is only chilly. LOL

I do know what you all are talking about though. We lived in Florida for awhile and it just didn't feel like christmas...with 60-70 degree weather! I closed our blinds/drapes, cranked up that a/c, turned on a videotape of Christmas in Minnesota (never knew we'd actually live here) and loved every moment!

All the weather aside, the true meaning of Christmas really is about Jesus' birth. Be blessed and have a wonderful Christmas!
