I am still stuck at 25. I could upgrade for an extra 20 a month to XF and get 100mbps. I just don't see why I could never need such fast speeds. It sure would be nice though. I would love mine to be doubled to 50.

I bet this is in response to AT&T announcing a new superfast service to Houston

AT&T confirms its GigaPower Network is coming to Houston - TechBlog

"Back in April, AT&T said that Houston was one of 100 cities where it was considering launching its GigaPower Network, a Gigabit Ethernet service that would offer ultra-fast Internet, voice phone and cable TV.
Today, the company is announcing that GigaPower will indeed be available in the Houston area – though it’s not yet saying precisely when, or exactly where.
From AT&T’s news release:
AT&T is deploying additional fiber and electronics to the existing network in Houston to meet the growing demand for ultra-fast broadband. The network enhancements will enable customers to have access to AT&T’s fastest Internet speeds available to consumers.**
Local residents and small business customers on the AT&T GigaPower network will also experience cutting-edge TV services with the ability to watch and record five simultaneous HD streams, and its largest capacity DVR at one terabyte of storage."

Maybe Comcast is trying to pre-empt a mass migration to AT&T
