Thank you Houston Chronicle for doing such a great job keeping Houstonians informed ....
sorry, I meant to say, misinformed.

Find instances of a large sports stadium like that which found a second useful life, and post them here.

You spot us the Summit then say it has to be bigger than Bush stadium and in the middle of a complex! Can you say moving goal post?

I get an A+

You can still walk up to that building from the street. I won't even get into the fact that it was practically given away.

I'm am pleased the Judge is still fighting to save the Dome even if the motives "may" not be pure. Not to say that they are not but we all know how crooked these commissioners can be.

Hmm, how about putting a water park in there? I wouldn't mind paying to get into something like that, especially during the summer. We're already known as the most air-conditioned city in the world -- so why not make an Astrodome-sized statement about it?

And I don't really see parking as problem. Most of us just park near the light rail and ride it in, like during the Rodeo.

A water park had been suggested, but no private companies would step up. No one is ever going to come up with a way to repurpose the dome. We have had a decade to do it. Everything now just seems desperate. 70mil to tear it down is misleading. That is also the price to fill in the hole. There are options to not fill it in.

Tear it down already and quit wasting tax payer money. If redeveloping the Dome was some great idea some developer would have down it already.
