I was listening to Joel Osteen this morning....& I was really uplifted & inspired.
If & when I ever get to Texas, going to Lakewood for a service is on my list.....

However I know that not everyone is into his style.
So for the locals- how do you feel about him?

The church has a huge and diverse congregation. Just as with any church/pastor - you have those who love and those who hate. Glad you enjoyed it and if it made you feel good, that's really all that matters. :-)

I like a lot of his messages and he can be a pretty captivating story teller at times, but I'm not really a Christian. If I truly believed in the bible, then knowing me, I would probably deem his teachings as too soft-serve/spoon-fed than what the bible actually states. He does a good job on focusing on the positive aspects of things.

I think he's talented, but I despise the business that he's in.

McChurch, and three seatings of 17K every Sunday. There's a reason he flies private, other than his wife hitting flight crew.

I suppose it's odd that we never did hear much follow-up on the story of $600M "robbed" from Lakewood Church, which could afford insurance to replace the "lost" donations but apparently couldn't find room in the budget for video surveillance.
