AFAIK it was simply a part of Alvin ISD before SCR opened, but I'm not sure why either. I know Texas once had many small school districts but they consolidated by the 1950s and 1960s. Maybe the ones covering what is now SCR chose to go into Alvin instead of Pearland?

If anything consolidation would REALLY improve SCR.

East more hodgepodge and west more sugar land looking master designed. I grew up there so I prefer east. But I don't care for much of it anymore. Nothing wrong with any of it, but as they say, you can't go home again.

I'm right at McClean but prefer East Pearland, simply because I hate going to 288 unless I have to; I'll often go to Pasadena or Clear Lake for the same stores just to avoid it. But Pearland Parkway is exploding and I'm glad to have a Pei Wei there! Just read that a new Academy is going to open near there, and that HEB is pretty awesome.
