My wife and I are looking to install a tankless water heater and a water softener. Does anyone know a reputable plumber in the Houston area that can do a job like this? Also, not including parts and equipment, how much can I expect to pay for a job like this?

I would NOT recommend Abucus Plumbing.

My mom used them to disconnect an old non-working water softener system in a home they recently purchased. She used Abacus. I felt they charged her too much for the job, but that wasn't the real problem. They asked if they could check her hot water heaters. She said ok, and they told her the heaters really were in horrible shape and needed to be replaced. They then quoted her something like $4,000 to replace two standard hot water heaters. I told her to get another opinion. She called out another plumber who told her the heaters were in good shape and maybe 5 years old.

Thanks for the info. I will probably stay away from them then. If anyone else has estimates I what a job like this would cost or knows some good plumbers please let me know.

I would recommend AquaSystems for your water softener, Richard De Young(281-469-9227) is the no1 rated contractor on Angie's list.

hey we are now looking to install a water softener system.
Can you share with whom you went with the installation and how much it ended up costing you for materials and labor?
Also, how are you liking it?

thanks,
