Hi,

Any recommendations for data card in 77057 area ( Specifically woodway drive, tanglewood park areas etc) ? I mostly work remotely so would like to try this and I connect to other VPNS to do my work.

Also are there any other options other than starbucks for using wifi ?

Thanks.

At&t has the best coverage in the area, followed by Verizon. Don't bother with Sprint, they have horrid coverage and are slow. T-Mobile works ok in most areas, but not all and don't bother with them if you travel a lot. Their rural coverage is bad.

Verizon has better coverage than at&t in my opinion followed by Sprint. I've never been a fan of the at&t mobile cards.

Verizon and Sprint have been updating their towers and software so their coverage's are better, faster, and more reliable.

I have had both side by side (work and personal devices) and At&t has better service in most areas around Houston and especially in rural areas of Texas. Reliability wise, they are about the same. They both use LTE now, so the tech is almost identical for 4G at least. I tried Sprint and know people that still have to use them and they are terrible. Their coverage has more holes than Swiss cheese and were it does get useable coverage is usually still extremely slow and not really reliable. T-Mobile worked ok in the city, but not so much in rural areas.

I've never really had any issues with Sprint and now that they've nearly completed their network upgrades speeds are a a lot faster and data coverage on LTE is better. I travel all over the area for work and have never had coverage issues. There have been a few places where it dropped back to 3G but it has been less and less as network upgrades have progressed. To get the full benefit of Sprints LTE service you need a triband phone.
