But I would have expected car sales to have decreased this year and not increased.
In fact, I spoke to a guy who was a car salesman the other day who said he was interviewing for other jobs because his pay is linked to the number of cars he sold and he just didn't see enough foot traffic in the car showroom to be able to get as much money as he did last year.
Maybe this is anecdotal evidence of a decline in Houston area auto sales that hasn't been reflected in the latest auto sales figures, or maybe this "guy" is just working at a dealership that is on the decline. We will see..

So Houston home values have gone up more in the past year and Zillow predicts that home values in Houston will go up at a faster rate than New York over the next year , yet somehow they call the NY market very hot and the Houston market cold ?
Keep up the good work Pine I like that you are keeping your eyes peeled for any dent in the Houston armor

Dents in the armor? Houston is the only city on CD (that I'm aware of) that has a sticky on layoffs and strikes. Don't blame me for pointing out armor dents.

I lived in Houston and payed taxes for 26 years and took full advantage of all the city offered in that time. I also ascribe to the belief that if someone is bored in Houston, it's their own fault. That said, unlike a few frequent posters here, I was aware that the city is not perfect in every aspect. I'd be willing to hold my commitment to improving the city to those who find the city flawless, however. When I lived there, I volunteered both time and money to programs ranging from the Special Olympics to visiting AIDS patients in the old Jeff Davis hospital on Allen Parkway. I also served on 2 born-profit boards while living there. Rather than finding the city perfect, I worked towards making it so.

Lectures aside you shouldn't get so touchy just because I showed what a farce your source link was. That just shows how biased you are and how eager you are to show Houston as broken somehow.....

You put too much weight on CD Stickys , Our Moderators are smart but not perfect.

Lets say if you responsible for budgeting and mid term planning for your organization in an industry which is directly or indirectly related to oil. What assumption would you make right now regarding oil future based on the current and anticipated future outlook?
