Toll roads is nothing but a money grab created city/county planners who don't plan for future growth.

Perhaps a different way to see it is...

Toll roads are nothing but a way to finance highways when the public refuses to tax themselves enough to pay for them.

Well I guess you have a point considering we live around a bunch of short sighted individuals.

Disagree,
I bet if you take a vote, most people would rather increase taxes than pay ridiculous amount of money on toll roads .... plus dealing with traffic.

The only people that like toll roads are politicians and their friends.

Actually large trucks do usually get charged an additional fee based on weight in many counties.

Why tax the citizens?!! If Houston wants big business and even more people, then simply assess the toll taxes on those businesses who choose to locate here.

I would bet a gazillion dollars against this. Do people EVER vote to raise taxes on themselves? Ever? We're even fighting the drainage surcharge in court.

I'm speechless. 'nuff said.

Lots of business will not move to Houston because of that.
If I were to take a different job where I have to take the Grand Parkway to work in Katy .... I would have to get paid $250 more a month, just to cover toll road expenses.

Disagree. While a general tax increase to cover roads *should* cost me less than direct tolls, my fear is that they would take the money and not deliver the goods. At least with toll roads, I only pay the toll if I get to use the road.
