Do some research, there are some apartments on Bay Area Blvd, west of the mall that are section 8.

So Clear Lake is more expensive than Houston? You can find something decent for that in the city and it wont be a crime hole

"Decent" all depends upon your frame of reference. . I'm sure the OP welcomes all opinions!

As noted, some of the apartments near Baybrook are Section 8-- something that I personally would avoid when looking for a home.

I see that a few people have suggested the Clear Lake area. Any information on actual complexes that are safe/clean (meaning no reputation of being roach infested, etc) and reasonable in price in the Clear Lake area? I know that "reasonable" is subjective, but if the OP increases his or her price range to the market, which appears to be from $1200-$1500, what would you all suggest?
