I just went through and read several pages of reviews, and here's what I get out of it.

They have a dress code which can be bypassed by either paying extra money or knowing the bouncer, owner or one of the bartenders. If you're on the verge of looking 21 and your ID doesn't look 100% like you, you're getting turned away.

The white people who were pissed they got turned away called the bouncer lot's of variations of rude, but with more colorful language.

The Asians, blacks and Hispanics who were turned away mostly went to the race card.

I'll go back to my restaurant story once again. I was at 59 Diner and had a horrible waitress. The table of black people right next to me had the same horrible waitress. I determined the waitress was horrible while they determined the waitress was racist.

It can't be worse than The Heights. Houston Heights somewhat like (exclusively white) inner-city Austin, with convenient access to the more cosmopolitan economy of Downtown Houston.

No doubt about the demographics but I wouldn't say Heights bars have crap like that going on. They are open as long as you got money to spend.
