Think what you will, I couldn't care less. Everyone's use will differ, and that's what I use.

Um glad you couldn't careless so why argue about said cost? You only account for a single pump, low kWh, low chemical use, very limited water and not all mantenence needs

Hey I am colorblind, but I know a green pool when I see it. It's a medium sized pool, 15 x 30 and ~16k gallons. I couldn't believe that I went an entire month during this heatwave without having to touch the walls, but tis the truth

lowexpectations = low IQ perhaps?

That is my scenario, and like I said, I couldn't care less if you believe it or not. I have a 3/4 polaris pump but averaged in its use into my overall yearly run time. In the winter, I run my main pump on low speed so it draws very little power at about 5 hours per day, and rarely have to add any pucks when it's cold. Satisfied?

.082 is a very doable kw price if you shop around.

Limited water = an 8k gallon refill every other year and topping it off a few times per month. If you say that's limited, then so be it.

If there's little or no algae, then I don't need these special chemicals that I assume you dump into your pool and buy at overpriced Leslie's.

Ok, I left off the occasional wheel bearing or bag for the Polaris. Skimmer basket, brush, $20 bag of DE. Insignificant costs averaged out through the year.

Previous owners put it in around 2000 so the plaster is starting to pit and crack It's got a huge shallow end so it's great for our twins and for volleyball. I'm in the middle of the GoM now so that's a pretty large saltwater pool

My iq is just fine, your pool is smaller so maybe your cost are less so I'm not sure how you came out of the gate busting someone's chops for spending 200 a month all in.

$200 is about twice what you should be paying for a monthly pool service, which includes chems. Maybe you need to shop around. My brother in law has a pool service business so I've learned alot from him.

I believe the 200 all in figure was for everything, chem, water, electricity and someone servicing said pool

Isn't the argument whether $200 is too high for paying a service?

If that is the debate, electricity and water has nothing to do with it unless the maintenance company is providing a generator and trucking in water.
