Hi Guys,

My friend recently get robbed badly - the thief broke their window that is the only one that doesn't have a sensor on. Spent 45 minutes minimal in the house, trashed everything...jewel and TV and many clothes, luggages and gifts missing....

I want to warn everyone be careful of your safety and health! For anyone who is new to Houston, this city is NOT safe, do watch out and take every precautions.

Can anyone recommend any good gated community near 77079/77077?

Is a gated community more safer?

I especially want to know about Parkway villages.

Thank you so much!

Oh, yeah, that is a bad area. Look into Farnham Park off San Felipe. They have a 24/7 guard at the gate. I knew some people that lived there years ago in the house with the red tile roof. Nice quiet little street of $2M+ homes.

Was it the window over the master bath tub? Thieves know that one does not open, and most likely is not hooked up to the alarm. Best to put a glass breakage sensor on that window.

Sorry to hear that. That area is actually relatively quite safe, but crimes do happen anywhere and around the holidays, thiefs tend to target the wealthy areas. Gates are definitely a deterrent, imo, but it's not fail proof bc anyone can follow a car in. I do think it helps though bc crooks usually target what's the fastest. Also in a small gated enclave, neighbors tend to know each other and keep an eye out for each other, having a 'neighborhood watch' type of program helps. Put up security cameras as that's another deterrent. And good security system.
