Just looking for a recommendation to a neurologist. Thinking memorial herman neurology in the med center but there are only about 20 doctors to choose from. It's a minor issue with clean EKG & CT scans BUT family history of brain soooooo..... good idea to get a MRI and have someone who is really good and looking at scans to review it. Want to establish care to monitor however often to look for anything abnormal that might come up. Called the GP who wants to require an appt for the referral and isn't available for 2+ weeks. Very good insurance.

I see someone at UT Physicians in the med center. I am very pleased with him. Good thing about them is they have neurologists who specialize in different neurological conditions. If you pm me what type of neurologist you need, I can let you know if I know of someone.

Thank you. Looks like we have some good options. Dr. Irr looks great and the GP went ahead and put in an order for a MRI to get started. I have also had great experience at UT Physicians in another department.

My neuro is Dr. Shahin Shirzadi with Houston Neurology Associates. He is amazing at treating my epilepsy and migraine headaches. I have been seeing him since 2008, and I have continued seeing him even though it's over an hour each way to his office. I also like the way he and his staff are very responsive to the needs of the patients and are quick to return phone calls and refill prescriptions. They also do not keep patients waiting in the waiting room. He has two offices, one in Houston and the other in Sugar Land. They do in office EEGs as well.
