It's been a few years since I've been, but the fried shrimp at Barbecue Inn are fantastic. The place has been around for over 50 years, so would expect them to be consistent.

Edit: don't let the name fool you -- the fried dishes are the specialty there.

Loved it 10 years ago. Went about a year ago and it was such a let down. The shrimp were not good at all, and the price was astronomical for a diner.

I like Captain Tom's. There's three locations and its a Boat shaped restaurant/bar. It's NOT a fancy place mind you, but I like their food.

A non-seafood restaurant that is quite popular is Kelly's country kitchen, and they have really good fried shrimp. The portions are large, too. Multiple locations. This place is also as far from fancy as you can get.

Pappadeax is good.

Golden Seafood is a more modest place.
