Good afternoon all. I just found this forum and would like to present a question all of you. I have been recently been given an opportunity for work right next to IAH, and was wondering how you all feel the commute would be from Katy Texas. (99 and I-10 area)

The company i would work for pays 150.00 month for tolls so taking the beltway from Katy wouldnt be so bad.

Anyways, any thoughts on the matter would be great as my last interview is tomorrow and I just needed some food for thought. Thanks to all!

Oh, and the hours would be 9:00am to 6:00pm, would that make a difference???

Which side of the airport, the 45 or the 59 side? If they're paying tolls....I'd take the Grand Parkway to either the Hardy, 45 or 59 and head South from there to the airport. Doesn't sound like that horrific a commute.....probably about an hour?

i live in richmond and work near 45 and beltway (close to IAH). I take I10 to beltway and do a 7-4 and it works out pretty good. takes me 45 min without traffic..but averages to 50/55 min daily each way.

Leaving @ 9:00 am would probably work, but if you leave @ 6:00 pm you will run into traffic primarily when you approach I-10 on beltway (heading south).

I tried taking 99 but it adds 20+ miles to my commute and i have to head south on 45 once i get off 99. I do have coworkers who do it and like it so far

I use Katy fwy everyday ..Westbound the traffic "displayboards" often read 30 mins to hwy6 and 50 mins to 99 from beltway 8 ...So plan accordingly.
