Hello everyone. Well my family and I are really considering Spring Texas now. We like that KISD is highly ranked. We understand that the commute is not that heinous, but tolerable (45 minutes or less to downtown during rush hour). Coming from Maryland, we are used to taking the subway most places. So this will be an adjustment. Has anyone heard of the Bridgestone Lakes area? It is high on our list to buy a home. What are your views of the Spring area in general, in terms of family-friendly activities, commute to downtown Houston, and crime? Also, I read in the paper about the Tuck racial assault. What are race relations like in Spring? Thanks. This is a great forum!

We are in KISD. I can't say enough about it. The schools are top notched. The Tuck incident was definately an isolated incident. The young victim is back in school and doing well. I want only the best for my children. I was raised in Spring and am proud to say my kids will be too!

We live right across from Bridgestone Lakes. While it is growing fast, we still have a lot of trees and are very conveniently located to doctors and hospitals!

Race relations are a funny thing...In Houston, race relations are pretty good as compared to other cities across the country. Houston is a pretty diverse place. Attacks like the case mentioned don't occur very often when they do they tend to garner a great deal of attention, on the other hand rapes & murders against whites occur just about every other day in Houston...so it really depends how you look at it. Spring doesn't really have much of a crime problem to speak of, in general the Far North, NW, and West sides of town are the safest parts of Houston (East, South and SW being the most dangerous)
