I'm pretty sure T-stone meant the commute from Cypress to Downtown is hell (which it is). It's a great place to live though.

Check out my Cypress Photo Gallery

PS - As a young person, just out of college you're going to want to live in Midtown amongst thousands of other young professionals. As you might imagine, the suburbs are geared for families. As for your commute to CFISD schools, you'd be going reverse traffic, so your commute from Midtown wouldn't be too bad (figure 30-45 minutes).

Places like Cypress, Katy and the Woodlands are great for families without a doubt. But as a single person straight out of college, you'll most likely be bored out of your mind unless you take the 20-30 mile drive into town just so you can hang out in places that cater more to young singles. I wouldn't suggest any 21-25 year old move to a suburb if they can at all help it.

Okay, that makes sense, thank you both.

Still, what about the commute from Midtown to Spring Branch. Any better?

Anything from approx Hwy 6 to just inside 610 on I-10 is going to be hell right now due to construction. However, it will greatly improve once the project is done. Not sure how long that'll take -- another 18 months or so maybe?

My sister in law is a vp in the Klein ISD .... she doesn't hold Spring ISD in high regard. If you are looking north try Klein ISD...she loves it.
