Does anyone know if this is possible in Fort bend county? Didn't receive any online protest id in the appraisal notice so I was wondering if this option is worth exploring. How does it work usually. Does it makes sense to protest on investment homes and commercial retail spaces?

Anyone with experience might want to share...

I am following up to see if anyone can share experience with BTA, O'Connor or Appeal? Does it make sense to hire them? How does the fee structure work? I don't understand the 50% calculation. Is it based on savings or the reduction amount etc? Non homestead eligible properties require in person attendance. So I wanted to get feedback if anyone is aware of the process?

Thanks

The 50% is based on savings. If they save you nothing, they get nothing.

The real catch is that if in the second year they determine your rate was too low during the previous year, they just adjust it back up to market, eliminating the savings from the year before. Good news you kept the money that year...bad news - they make it up the next.

Also there is no cap on investment/business so they get FMV every single year.
