It's all about the money for the management company and the HOA attorney.
It's also about the residents and their complaints. If it is a large oversized commercial vehicle, then the HOA could be responding to resident or neighbor complaints. Even your best neighbors won't hesitate to file a complaint if they don't like something that violates The rules or they perceive as lowering their property values.

I live in CR SW and have seen some Work Vehicles parked in the driveway at night. The vehicles were a typical small sedans or small trucks. I don't personally have any issues with work vehicles being parked at home driveway - But yes if it is a commercial vehicle (Passenger/ Cargo Vans) and parked on the street all day and night - I will have some reservations about it - coz they may cause road safety hazard. Such vehicles should be parked at the office locations.
I live close to High School - and teens park their cars in front and side of my home during school days - and I and my neighbors don't mind them parking there. Maybe talk to your neighbors and see if they have any issues - if not then you can take your case to CR HOA and tell them your neighbors don't seem to have a problem or find another reasonable solution.
One way may be to talk to a neighborhood Church and see if you can park your vehicle there at night.

I think you should be fine. Someone from HOA office drives around the neighborhood once a week during the day to check for any irregularities/ or if there is a complaint. If you have not received any warning letter or notice from HOA you are fine. I would not break a sweat on this. CR SW is a great community and this should not be a concern.

Well I did receive a letter and thats why I wanted to see what practical options I had or what do ppl do in such situation instead of selling their homes or not buying in the neighborhood to start with.

Oops Sorry - I may have misread your original post. I think you should talk to HOA and ask for their suggestions or a solution. I would hate to loose a neighbor for such a silly restriction. Good Luck.

Thank you. Reached out to HOA via email so that we have a written track. Spoke to someone in the community and they had an email earlier this year from HOA allowing commercial truck being parked in driveway and its similar model. So now I am bit confused.....

Don't forget that there are some people that just aren't happy. HOA's, the vast majority of the time only do something when someone complains. Sometimes you end up having a squeaky wheel for a neighbor. I know I do. I get HOA notices for things all the time that are never addressed throughout the neighborhood. Am I in violation, by the letter of the restrictions, yes, but realistically, not in a major way. I know who the culprit is, and he's just a miserable old bastard, and complaining is how he gets his rocks off.

I think you might be right. There might be some folks trying to sell their property in the same street and might use this as a reasoning if they aren't getting favorable offers. All this is speculation off course. Time to pass out home baked cookies in the neighborhood

Special brownies might be a better idea.
