What do people think about this garbage deal Turner wanted with the Spanish trash company? It looks like city council looked it over and said the deal was bull**** and we were paying way too much money.

So, Turner had to back-pedal and basically defended himself against corruption in the public comments he made.

But isn't this pretty basic old school public corruption to monetize the city garbage contract? That's like what Tony Soprano would do and many real mobsters did to earn money in the old days.

Turner's weirdo public works director got the job after bundling like $250,000 for Turner, mostly from his Indian engineering friends. The guy comes across as so weird that its hard to believe he got the job on merit. Then we hear that same dude got exposed paying $90,000 in bribes!!!

Turner is just coming across as so shady and corrupt it's crazy he is mayor of the fourth largest city in the world!

Have you found any wrong doing from Harris County judge Ed Emmett (Republican) on his handling of the Astrodome?
Or you only find things about Mayor Turner?

FYI,
Houston is not the 4th largest city in the World

Didn't the taxpayers vote against doing something with the Astrodome and judge ignored that?

The astrodome should be torn down. Sen Whitmire was right to file his bill. I haven't heard of corruption involved with the dome. Emmet did come down hard on Jerry Eversole, so I haven't heard of any corruption issues from him. Anyone who is corrupt needs to be shown the door.

Are you talking about this?
That one really sounds like corruption

Houston votes against Astrodome
- Nov. 2013

After Texas voters on Tuesday rejected a referendum that would have authorized up to $217 million in bonds to turn the Astrodome into a giant convention and event center, the stadium is likely to be demolished.
"We can't allow the once-proud Astrodome to sit like a rusting ship in the middle of a parking lot. This was the best effort (to revamp the stadium), and voters have turned it down," Harris County Judge Ed Emmett said. Fifty-three percent voted against the referendum.
Emmett said a final decision on what happens to the Astrodome will be up to the commissioners court, the group of local officials who manage the county. But he said the stadium's future was pretty much sealed with the referendum's failure. He said a decision would have to be made quickly but didn't say exactly when that would happen.

County Commissioners: Astrodome to stay, with taxpayer-funded $105 million rehab plan - Sep. 2016

Harris County Commissioners voted unanimously Tuesday to ok a plan to keep Houston's iconic Astrodome from being demolished.
Tuesday's vote of five individuals on the commissioner's court means is a reversal of fate for the stadium which many thought would be demolished after a 2013 vote when 128,616 voters -- more than half of those voting -- rejected a plan to approve a $217 million bond proposal that would have paid for massive renovations to the Astrodome.

Dopey doesn't seem to understand what corruption is. He's given no evidence ed Emmet is corrupt just that he doesnt like his astrodome policies. This post was about how our mayor took a quarter of a million dollars in bundled money and then gave a major public post to a guy who has paid bribes. There's no comparable in commissioners court right now.

I'm not focused on Harris county commissioners court because I live in the city limits, so commissioners court affects me far less. If I lived in unincoprated Harris county then I'd pay much closer attention to it.
