In our continued quest to relocate, I was wondering what those living ITL did this past weekend that you can only do ITL. Exclusions include restaurants, sporting events, and museums. Thanks!

Confused. Are there events that only people ITL can do? Do they check addresses at the gate?

If you want to live in the loop, then live in the loop.

I used a bathroom inside the loop over the weekend.

One of the primary reasons we choose to live near the loop (in right outside) is to buy time for our lives.

Easiest example is commute.

Many benefits in buying an extra 5-6 hours a week.

Has that 40 minute commute from Uptown to the Heights in the afternoon gotten any better in the past few years?

Your post doesn’t really make sense. People tend to live inside or right around the loop to be closer to work and have less of a commute. Doing things inside the loop isn’t relegated to living there or not. Festivals are attended by everyone and anyone who wants to go. As are the museums, restaurants, etc. if you want to live inside the loop, then do it.

Insert [unique restaurant only inside 610] or [Houston sports event] and that pretty much sums it up for 95% of Houstonians.

Default Cheap rides

Living in the loop, especially in Montrose, or Midtown, is great because you can take an Uber ride just about anywhere ITL, and it won't cost much, unless there is surge pricing for an event.

Case in point, I had a schedule to be online at 8:30 PM (international IT work), so I had a two hour window to visit with some friends who drove in from Spring for the Greek Festival... I normally would walk because it is just a mile a way, maybe 1 1/4 mile, but they were not going to be there too long. I was able to take an Uber, $4.65. I then walked home as the sun had gone down, about a 10-15 minute walk.

But I take Uber almost anywhere inside the loop if I will be drinking. Great for games, or concerts as well. Actually, in the fall/winter, I've actually walked several times to downtown, about a 20-25 minute walk. I go to a Happy Hour after work on Thursdays with a group of people from the office, and I always go home first, then take an Uber, and we usually go to a pub within a ten mile radius, and I go with the peace of mind that I will not get pulled over, or be involved in an accident, even if not my fault. An uber from Katy to Midtown, no.

I grew up inside the loop, but had a lot of fun at a lot of activities outside of the loop....
