How about an oldschool-style Houston photo thread?

I came over for a few days while living up north three years ago this week. Stayed downtown and lived the life of the typical visitor to Houston.

Didn't have a whole lot of photography time, but there was this one day. Lots of stuff in development that's finished now.

Fantastic shoot. I would like to see a recent pic of that Hurricane Ike project site, just to see what happened. Also did we get a glimpse of the reflection of jfre81 himself in one of those shots?

I should be getting over there again in the next couple weeks or so.

East End has changed more than anything since I was regularly doing these shoots in Houston, so it's a priority.

On this trip I had some time constraints as I was mainly in Texas for something that wasn't here in Houston, and was only popping in to see friends/family. But getting a golden hour morning shoot in/around downtown was something I always wanted to do, but wasn't so easy when I lived way down South Main across from the loop. I stayed with a friend living in the Rice Lofts at the time (#62 was shot in its lobby) so it was easy to get up and out there.

The sky lobby at Chase Tower is also no longer open to the general public.

Yes, and it's easily the worst image in this series.

It's from the Wells Fargo Tower, which faces the wrong way for that particular part of the day. I still had never been up there. Kind of lame.

Going up in the Chase used to be one of the coolest things in the city you could do for absolutely nothing, but they never liked people like me. This was actually my last day in town while it was open, so I'm glad I did it, even though I'd done it before.

Banksy wouldn't have made that mistake.

The only thing that reflection divulges is that jfre81 may be a Green Bay Packers fan..

But I've never sold a print that self-destructed and wasted anyone's time or money. I win.
