One way to tell the current status of a neighborhood is to take a nighttime ride around / in it. Start around 10 PM.
I did this recently to some areas I used to (40-50 years ago) live in in Houston. Most were no longer on my list of places to live.

We’re talking about bad areas right? Isn’t that the topic here? Or did I miss something?

Because except for the west (and Clear Lake and Kingwood which I left out), the city limits is a pit. And I get to say that as someone born and raised in Houston.

BTW- get a sense of humor.

One universal sign - I say universal because this is the truth most everywhere I've been - is look at the businesses around.

Do you see multiple check-cashing, title-loan type places around? Is there anywhere not rundown to shop for groceries?

If the first answer is yes and the second answer is no, you have no reason to be there.

Renting rims & tires and getting a lap dance takes priority over groceries, dawg.

You wrote off nearly ever area, and in the what can only be described as racist terms. Each area slamming one race or demographic. That brings nothing of value to this forum.

Again, if you see the city in such negative terms, it makes no sense to be here.

You ever see that "judgmental map of Houston?" It was so much more detailed.

Those maps were made for lots of cities and are much more “offensive” than anything I’ve said here. Some folks need to grow a pair... or go live in those bad areas and tell everyone how you enjoy the diversity.
