All we family love golf. We heard it could be rough (just for me) to play sometime during summer as I prefer walking instead of sitting in the cart. Any golf course come with lots of mature trees? Btw, our kids also play competitively in high school. Any recommendations on golf clubs which are family friendly with option for junior memberships, as well as easy to access by traffic. Thanks!

Hi there. It totally depends on where you live. I’m a member at Falcon Point in Katy. Great course, challenging. Fairly priced. Great benefits outside the club. Seven Lakes High School in Katy has one of the best golf programs in the state.

Kingwood. One club, five or six 18 hole tracts. Island, Marsh, Forest, Lake, and Atascacito and Deerwood thought the last two may be separate clubs. Woodlands has a number of good tracts too. Walking can be an issue at most clubs.

In what area of town do you live?

Memorial Park Golf Course used to be the best "walkable" golf course in the city of Houston. It was recently renovated and I'm not sure if that feature was maintained - probably since it will now be home of the Houston Open (where the pros will play).

Neil Wilkins at Sienna Plantation teaches a lot of junior golfers. If you are in that area I would high recommend checking out Sienna Plantation Golf Club.

Good luck!
