The 44's own Sylvester Turner wins a 2nd Houston mayoral term. Buzbee came hard, but Sylvester Turner won out in the end. What y'all think? Do you think it's going to be a different 4 years for Houston under his 2nd term as mayor?

Hopefully there will be another reasonably competent choice in 4 years. No one like Buzbee or King, who are lightweights with no clue as to how to manage a city the size of Houston.

I like Turner. He's a supporter of the LGBT community. I hope in 4 years we continue to have a strong ally running the city.

Folks shouldn’t be disappointed if he doesn’t come through on promises as this is it for him. Only thing about term limits - less accountability.

If he has a major agenda that’s life changing please push it on through

Yes because that's certainly the most important thing when it comes to running the fourth largest city in the country.

Politicians in democracies base their decisions on blocs who vote for them, and LGBT blocs *do* consider whether policies are LGBT friendly when they choose who to vote for.

One can say that occupation/religion/gender/sexual identity/et al shouldn't matter, but as we use district voting, they do. Evangelical Christians and suburban whites are blocs too.

Corrupt and incompetent. More of the same for large urban areas. I don't see how this is ever going to change.

This was a foregone conclusion - not sure why Buzbee wasted his time and money trying to run. Identity politics determine every election in Houston now.
