Didn't feel any hotter than where i am from where an average summer day can range between 92-105 with a few here and there getting to 110. The biggest difference i noticed is that its hotter in the morning and evenings.

Not sure if everyone is different, but i can't really 'feel' humidity. One of the agents showing me an industrial property was drenched in sweat after about 30 minutes whereas i wasn't sweating at all. Maybe i'm just lucky? Or maybe it was just really nice weather while i was there.
It's been pretty hot lately. It will start to cool off at the end of August.

Coming from east county SD, I'd say you'll be perfectly fine in the Conroe/Woodlands area. A Master Plan community would be the way to go IMHO.

Not typical of the Houston area. Lots like those are common ion New York. I had a colleague who moved here from North of NYC. He had a 1400 sq ft house on a one acre lot, and thought houses here were too close together.
