I live in a house located at the end of the street. I have 2 City of Houston storm/manhole covers on my front sidewalk. My question relates to soil erosion: Since there are parts of my sidewalk that have sunk, while other parts of my sidewalk appear to be raised, will the City of Houston correct this problem since there are 2 of it's storm/manhole covers on the sidewalk? Note: there is a 3rd storm/manhole cover in my front yard, but it is not on the sidewalk. It is by itself, near the curb and storm drain. Thanks!

Have you called the Houston Service Center at 3-1-1 or 713.837. 0311 to report your concern or ask this question?

Houston's municipal code states that sidewalk maintenance is considered the responsibility of private property owners. If a sidewalk falls into disrepair and the property owner does not fix it, residents can file a complaint with the city through 311.
With a property owner’s permission, the city will agree to construct new sidewalks in certain high-need areas but typically will not assume responsibility for repairs, city officials said. In some cases, poor sidewalks can be filled with crushed rock as a temporary fix.
