Would you guys say it’s easier to meet people in Houston vs Dallas please? That is the sense I am getting now

Also Dallas is sounding pretentious like they think more than they really are ( unless out in the boonies where they do not). Does that sound accurate?

I don't think Dallas is any more pretentious than Houston. I do think there's a pretentious attitude more so when you bring up Houston and how some Dallasites view Houston. But just general interaction Dallas and Houston are equally about the same. Hell I don't know if it's cause I live in Houston and visit Dallas but the last couple of visits I had to Dallas I've noticed people are more willing to speak to you and hold a conversation. I mean literally every time me and my wife go to Dallas we end up having a conversation with a complete stranger like we've known each other. There's time we do the same here in Houston and get no acknowledgement or nothing. But like I said we live in Houston everyday so we're probably looking at things a lot differently. I'm pretty sure if we moved to Dallas we would start to notice less conversation starters.

Houston is relatively unpretentious and has a history of immigrants and people living close together. You have different cultures living close together and working together. There isn’t a long history here compared to the East Coast. There had never been a true “upper class”. People here just get along.

Dallas isn’t super pretentious compared to other large cities in the US, but it’s not as laid back as Houston.
