Terminal C gates 1-15 is very nice and is one of the nicest parts of any airport nationwide. Terminal B gates 1-31 is also solid. The rest of the airport ranges from well below average to average. The baggage delivery at IAH is HORRIBLE. Worst of any airport Ive been to domestically.

When I think of the nicest airport in the US overall, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Detroit, and the new section of Salt Lake City would leap to mind. Overall, IAH is just ok. Some good parts and some not so good parts.

I can't agree OR disagree with you on this, as I only travel by plane two or three times a year...and most of that is out of Hobby.

I CAN say that the times I HAVE flown out of IAH, I didn't have any baggage issues...or ANY issues for that matter. Then again, I've never been the type of guy to pay much attention to detail like that...I'm LITERALLY there to catch a plane...and unless something VERY obvious is staring me in my face, it'll literally go right over my head.

This depends on the terminal. A is atrocious as well as B. C-E are a bit better. They’re also going to remain that way because they’re perfecting those before improving A and B.

Yeah I haven't had any issues picking up my checked bags either at IAH but then again I rarely check bags and usually just carry on. IAH has a pretty nice range of food and store options and it's easy to get between all terminals with multiple ways to do it, but there's somethings that could improve like getting more electric outlets. The other things it could improve on its already doing.

With most people flying out of the newest terminals at IAH it doesn't surprise me it'd rank high on some lists. C, and and the newest parts of B are all I'd ever see at IAH. I remember the old B though and it's pretty crappy but you don't have to hang out there.

If you’re flying out of A or B then you’re not a United frequent flyer. Most business travelers in Houston fly United.

I was a frequent business traveler in 2019. I flew all over the world and the United States. I can’t ever remember thinking “I love this airport!” All of them are terrible…. You have to walk 10 miles to get to your terminal and the same after landing….

In that regard I much prefer the smaller airports to get in and out of quickly…. John Wayne in Anaheim and the Phoenix airports come to mind.

Also, I almost ALWAYS check in my luggage for business trips…. It’s rare that a business traveler would check luggage unless on a very long trip.

How I rank out terminals

Exceptional: B South, C North, E (D will join when it’s construction is done)

Ok: C south

Not good: A, current D

Terrible: B North

E definitely isnt exceptional. Its solid, but exceptional implies that few other airports can match it and many of them can. I would agree with C North. B South is somewhere below exceptional but far better than average.
