Fellow Ilocanos have taken a bad rap for quite some time regarding their money-handling habits, spending habits, and generally their charity-giving habits. They are accused of being tight-fisted, squeaky frugal, and unreasonably austere.
I am here to dispel all that gobbledygook. That bad "stingy" rap falls under the old and outdated stereotype of an Ilocano. I ought to know. I have been accused of being the same.
What's the point? I am looking for a fellowship of Ilocanos in the Houston area wherein I might join and refresh my memories. Maybe I could even join them in establishing a charitable organization to help the needy, the poor, and those who aren't so fortunate.
Thank you for any leads you can toss my way. I am moving to Houston with my family and I aim to make a contribution to the betterment of the community.

No takers - no comments, nothing, nada - AWAN. No interest whatsoever. I can only surmise that there aren't any Ilocanos in Houston smart enough to engage in this forum. I am going to give you one more chance to make a comment and be a relevant member of this society. Thank you.

Just an FYI, this forum does not get a whole lot of traffic. You might be better off trying somewhere else, like Reddit.
