I sometimes will go to the one on Westheimer Rd.
When I pay for my meal, the cashier always ask if I want some cash to tip the waiter?
The waiter does not really do much, just pick up the tray afterwards.
Why is it a policy for the cashier to ask if you want cash to tip the waiter?
If they are not paying their waiter enough, then raise the price of the food.
(I do leave a good tip behind, but I feel it kind of odd for cashier t o keep reminding everyone )

Perhaps because the cash registers are not set up to add it manually as with most restaurants.

(I notice K&W cafeteria in Virginia does not have a tip line on the receipt you sign when you use a credit card.)

well,we pay for our food before we find a table,so it makes no sense to talk about tipping from the cashier?
you dont add tip before you chow!!!

I usually leave $2 at Luby just because I always tip,it is a cafeteria not a restaurant.

I suggest going elsewhere. Luby's is nowhere close to what it used to be, and almost folded completely in recent years.

their steak is not prime, kind of tough, but I usually go for beef liver with onion and turkey burger with mushroom, din din starts at 6 something, dont go too early and dont go too late, say 7 is good .
they have a good variety of entrees, salad, beverage, veggies ,rolls, you can seat anywhere as long as you like,no one will chase you away

Fried, breaded square of fish. Ask for tarter sauce. Mac and Cheese. Whatever else you like.

For the folks that do like Luby's, the fried fish is where it's at.

Lots of places almost folded during COVID, so I won't judge this case based off of that.

Luby's was failing prior to Covid. My son liked going there when he was young, until they messed up the mac and cheese. We never went back.
