I may be relocating to the Houston area in the next couple of months and am considering Katy (or points east) as a likely target.

On the fortbend side of Katy i've found that taxes tend to be a little higher (maybe .15% or so). But when I was quoting auto and home insurance, the rates in fortbend county were so much lower I actually came out better off buying in the area with higher property taxes. I am buying a sub 200k home though.
