Not all legal residents can qualify for certain jobs that require security clearance and export control.
That's why some jobs are for the US citizens only.
How you don't know that?

Is this sarcasm? Building quality and standards were better 50-70 years ago than a lot of the recent builds hitting the market today. I used to live in a 1950s era ranch style house that was built like a Sherman tank - top notch quality and rarely had issues, even with the original plumbing!
