Actually far West Houston is the closest part to Downtown with the highest elevation that is furthest away from the coast (including Galveston Bay). But your geography skills seriously need improvement!

As a planner, you should know that the elevation gets higher the further north and west away from Houston.

Also most people don't notice the tip of Galveston Bay (at the mouth of the San Jacinto River in Baytown) putting some parts of suburban North Houston closer to the (technical) coast. Turns out Galveston Bay is like a superhighway for more intense hurricanes further inland on that side of town!

How's the traffic out there? The Westpark Tollway essentially dumps you out onto a two-lane portion of 1093 out in Fulshear so I'd imagine it can get pretty nasty with all of the new development going up there (as well as up and down 359 towards Brookshire).
1093 (continuation when WPT ends) is 4 lanes divided all the way past 'downtown' Fulshear

Yes, but its down to two lanes before you get to Weston Lakes. Seems like there's some potential for some backups there during busy periods, but I don't live out there so I don't know. My assumption is that 1093 will eventually be expanded all the way to at least Simonton.

1093 west of 359 really isn't bad - yet. The worst part of this area is 1463 north of 1093 - two lanes, commercial businesses everywhere and a major artery into Cross Creek (via Fry) and continuing north to Katy.

1463 expansion needed to happen ~5 years ago, all the way to Katy Fwy. Instead we got Andy's roundabouts on a road to nowhere

Oh I agree, it's ridiculous and I try to avoid the area as much as I can.
