Friendswood is it’s own city in Galveston county and a small portion within Harris county but still considered to be Friendswood. Those who live in Galveston county seem to not consider those living in the Harris County portion as the “real Friendswood” so a bit of snobbery toward those residents

I lived in "Friendswood" in Harris County. My address said Friendswood. It was actually outside the city limits. I was right behind Clear Brook HS. I then moved to Clear Lake which is the city of Houston right off Clear Lake City Blvd. My address was Houston but nobody who grew up here considered that Houston.

Postal addresses often bear little relationship to whether you're in an incorporated city or not.

That portion of Clear Lake is within the City limits of Houston.

Correct, but there's lots of unincorporated areas that have a Houston postal address. In contrast, Baybrook Mall is in the City of Houston, but has a Friendswood postal address.
