Hi, everyone,

Back a few months ago, I had a heated verbal argument with a family member. She misheard me saying things I didn't say, and called the cops. The DA put a terroristic threat charge against me anyway.
(It was considered a stupid case even by cops, DA people involved in this case)

Now the DA agrees to dismiss my case if I agree to take some online classe (Pretrial Intervention).

I was a teacher, but I was let go by my district due to this was an active case.

Should I take this Pretrial Intervention Program to have my case dismissed? Would it affect my job hunting negatively for a public school teacher position in the Houston area?

I am towards go to trial because I am very confident about my innocence. (I didn't say the things for which I was accused of, and the family member admitted that she didn't actually hear me.)

Please let me know, and thank you all.

Why would it show up if it's dismissed?

Makes the small yearly fee to be part of tsta worth it when this happens.

Whether it's dismissed or not, the charge will appear in the public record. If you don't have an attorney, you need to get one now. This is not something to try and do without competent legal advice. If you go to trial without an attorney, you stand a good chance of losing, because the ADA prosecuting you knows far more about the courtroom than you, and the rules are nowhere near what you think they are.

Get an attorney NOW.

If you have an attorney, then listen to them. None of us here have the experience or qualifications to tell you what to do.
