Just moved here last fall so I'm not sure of the yearly weather patterns yet. What I do know is that its been over 3 weeks since even a drop of rain has fallen on my lawn and garden. I'm scared to see what my water bill will be this month. Is it normal for it to be this dry at this time of year? What about the summer?

Thanks!

Not just yet. Check out the following site for the drought index: " + theTitle + " (http://sslgtw05.tamu.edu/website/kbdi/viewer.htm - broken link)
It has been a little bit dry for the southern half of the area this spring.

Seems dry.

My online weather station for Clear Lake says it has rained 4 inches in the past 3 months and no rain for May yet. That's basically semi-arid.

It's grass blooming season right now and it hasn't done very much. I'm afraid it's gonna look rough in July.

A drought here is when it doesn't rain for two weeks. We're not gonna go dry. Don't worry.

Well coming from Seattle I kinda like not seeing the rain for weeks at a time. It's a welcome change from the constant clouds and drizzle. But I do look forward to seeing some thunderstorms though. I'm sure I'll regret saying that at some point.

I am glad to know that I wasn't the only one wondering about this. I was just talking to my hubby about this and how no one on the news has really commented on it. I grew up in the midwest and this would have been the top news story for weeks on end. Probably would have had a rain watch or running tally of how many days without rain.

I have to say though I am tired of looking at weather showing what should be rain falling on my head only to look out the window and see nothing.
