Hi everyone!

My husband and I are moving from DC to Houston and are strongly considering the Northeast corner of the city (Fall Creek, Humble, Atascosita, Summerwood). I posted a couple of weeks ago about Fall Creek specifically, but now we've broadened our search a bit. I'm totally overwhelmed by the choices and would like to know which areas and school districts have the best reputations. Can anyone help or point me to any resources for comparing schools in the Houston area?

Thanks so much!

If you are using HAR.Com to research homes for sale you can also use it to get information on schools. When you look at the detailed listing for a house go down to the information on which schools it attends. Click on the school name and this will open a new page with school information and statistics including the TEA accountability rating and demographics.

This is also a good resource for school and district information:

I have a child at Fall Creek Elementary. It's a brand new school so it remains to be seen how it will fair, but so far we are really happy. The Principal is very hands on and there is a lot of community involvement with the school. As the saying goes "It takes a village..." I want to also point out that Summerwood has a great elementary school. The new highschool "Summer Creek" that will service both of these neighborhoods will open next fall and the new Middle school is set for 2010. ~K~
