Does anyone have any advice/suggestions for a place to have a ceremony and reception in the Houston area? All of our guest are from out of town and we'd love to find a place that is close to hotels or has a hotel on site? We'd like something unique and different for our out of town guest! If anyone has been to a wedding or has had their wedding around here please let me know! Thanks!

Default Wedding locations

How about the hotel (cant think of the name) in the galleria or across the street? Went to a wedding serveral years ago...nice. Had mine back in 96 at the Willow wisp country club but now it is closed down. It was in Missouri City. There are alot of hotels you can check. Do a search online. Good luck.

Default Also....

How about a bed/breakfast, ranch, or on the beach? Those are different. Look online. When is the big day?

Yes I can think of a better place for a wedding then this:

Kemah Friday Night Fireworks Cruise -$49 Dinner, Dancing & Fun!

Either the Clear Lake or Galveston Bay is a great cruise. Not expensive at all !!!

I promise you this is an experience you will never ever forget.

You should probably provide a budget and number of guests you are expecting. I have been to numerous weddings in Houston. There are a ton of places that will host the wedding and reception in one place (ie wedding downstairs and reception upstairs). Those turned out pretty nice.

On a side note, me and the wifey had a small wedding in Hawaii with just the family. I recommend it to everyone. Stress free experience in a beautiful get-a-way...

^^^ditto! We had our wedding in Key West with just ONE friend there. It was the best! I wouldn't do it any other way. Totally stress-free, allowing us to focus on just the two of us...

Of course, we hear about it now and again from hubby's parents...which can be kind of stressful...LOL

I am not sure, but the Forbidden Gardens in Katy claims to allow rentals. The idea of a Asian park in the Houston area seems exotic to me.

I was searching the web for suggestions of places to visit in Katy for another thread. I figure I should reciprocate that information since "Weddings" was mentioned on their website.

Kemah, Galveston Island, The Uptown area near the Galleria, A skyscraper reception overlooking Downtown, The sky bar near downtown(my choice), Rent a boat cruise in the gulf or the bay. Quail Valley or Sienna Golf Club in Missouri City.

Does anyone have any idea how much it would be to have the dinner at Churrascos or Americas restaurant in Houston?
