We're finally pulling the trigger and making our move to Houston...next month!

We've been looking for rentals that are either wheelchair accessible or have owners willing to let us do some ADA retrofitting in a bathroom.

We actually found a house for rent in Millbend Village that is already wheelchair accessible with a bathroom set up for wheelchair use. It fits all our physical parameters to meet DH's needs.

DH works from home, I'm a SAHM so commute is not an issue. My brother lives in Houston so we'd have about a 40-min drive (hah - with no traffic) for visits. We have a friend who just moved into TW's Sterling (Ridge?) neighborhood.

We have twin infants so schools are really not an issue yet. We just need a home that will be friendly to DH's needs as we get to know Houston before we decide on an area to settle in and areas surrounding a rental that have decent shopping and activities for a mom w/babies.

I have a few questions:

Can anyone tell me anything about Millbend Village?

Does anyone have feedback on St. Luke's Hospital?

Any information on either Sts. Simon and Jude Catholic Church or St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church?

Thanks for any information...we're really looking forward to returning to Texas and being closer to family!

I'm sorry nobody has responded and I'm not much help, either. My wife briefly attended Sts. Simon & Jude and had no complaints, but she was single, bored and more often than not went to church near her parents house down in Sugar Land. The St. Luke's system in general is good, but again, I don't know anything specific about the one in The Woodlands. My feeling is it's probably good, as people there are pretty demanding and generally above-average in income, so able to afford to get what they want. I know it's an attractive area for doctors, since doctors can buy a nice home and work nearby. That's becoming increasingly popular in the bigger suburbs, like Sugar Land and The Woodlands.... companies are moving their headquarters there for the same reasons. Reduce commute and also eliminate the need to live inner-city to have a short commute.

Anyway, I can't think of a "bad neighborhood" that's in The Woodlands, so I'm sure you'll be fine.

ZeroTX - thanks for your reply. We haven't finalized anything yet but we're hoping to do so by sometime next week.

Millbend Village is really nice. And St. Lukes Hospital Woodlands is great! Took my mom there a couple of times. Good luck!
