Does anyone have a recommendation or suggestion for a dentist in the Sugar Land area that specializes in people that have a phobia about dentists? We haven't been very happy with the one we have been using and I'd like to find a new one. Add to that a husband has a real fear of dental work. Even an appointment to just get his teeth cleaned has him up all night before the appointment. Please let me know if you have any recommendations or suggestions. Thanks!

I hope someone answers you. I decided after my last dental visit that I need to switch to a dentist who specializes in working with patients who don't like to go to the dentist, and I want the goggles w/ TV like my dentist in Seattle offered. The TV makes the time in the chair seem to pass more quickly.

Bonus points if the dentist actually treats me like a person instead of just a mouth with teeth.

I recently went to Avalon Dental Group who is a new dentist in Sugar Land after getting flyer in the mail. I have been wanting to change my dentist for couple of years but just got lazy. I finally made the appt after getting his flyer in the mail. He was GREAT with all my fears and concerns.(I had so many questions for him) He took his time (unlike my last dentist who I saw once a year for 2 minutes) to explain everything in person and calm me down before we did any work. I took my whole family after my visit and told several of my friends. They all love him.
BTW, all of his patient rooms were awesome with music and tv. He even let me pick the channel.

Wanted to give another to Avalon Dental. I was desperate about 8 months back. I was going to Made You Smile on Hwy 6. The dentist told me that I needed 2 root canals and 2 crowns. My mom found Avalon Dental through an internet search becasue she loved the website. I figured what did I have to lose. Well I went and he did numerous tests on those two teeth. He figured out that the roots were fine but I was having some problems from grinding. I got a new night guard and they have been fine ever since. Besides that he knows his stuff.

I should add that I filed a complaint with the BBB against Made You Smile. They are crooks!! My husband and I always ended up with multiple cavities. Now I am wondering if we ever even had any.

I just had a crown done by Dr. Cashion and I appreciated that he actually takes the time to talk with you before and after the procedure. His office offers movie goggles and since my appointment took 2 hours, I really appreciated having something to watch.
