Zoo is very moderate and fun for all ages, Children's Museum, or with this weather how about a nice day at the park like Herman and everyone ride the train.

Considering the kid is one and won't care or remember... I think you could throw it anywhere.

I went to a one year- old's party at Tony's once. <eye roll> What a hoot. The baby was wearing a baby mink as well.

We did our daughter's one year birthday at Rainforest Cafe. Only 20 people though, mostly family and a few close friends. The kids (we had several cousins and kids of friends) loved it and the adults enjoyed themselves as well.

I have finally realized after having my own kiddoes that the one year birthday celebration is mainly for the parents, saying "YAY! We made it!" LOL...BUT like EA, I too have seen it grossly overdone where all I could think was "wow...who is this for again?" But, if you're paying, who cares I guess! LOL!

I love the Zoo idea, but it's hard to guess this time of year whether it will be 70*F or 50*F. No fun to ride the train when it's blustery.

Buuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuut...if your friend doesn't care about temperature too much, I'd go for the Houston Area Steamers at Zube Park! Trains, trains, and more trains!

Ok I'll second that one. But at the original location.

Sasha and John can put you all in the second room.

Good ideas! Yes -kids 1st bday is for the parents. She will be having alot of out of state guests and wants to do something nice!!

I also suggested to her the Salt Lick in the Heights ( she can do a cute cowboy theme) and I will definetly recomend Palazzos!
