I am thinking of relocating to the houston area, i am a CCC-SLP and i currently work as an early intervention therapist...I am trying to find out what the early intervention programs are like in texas. Are they exclusively home or facility based?, can i obtain employment on a contract basis through agencies? What is the pay rate?

In addition, I have school aged children so i require good school districts, safe area (have been researching the league city area).

And why not have it all? An area by water...lake preferable.

Am I asking too much?

Would greatly appreciate any info on the above questions.

Many thanks in advance!

Harris County Mental Health-Mental Retardation Center is always looking for great people for their ECI program. I'd check them out! There is also Project TYKE in Katy, and I can't remember what the Conroe/Spring one is...but the answer is YES! There are also good private therapy clinics looking for Speech/Lang Paths--the one we take our daughter to is but it is not by water...not sure you'll find anything like that here unfortunately!
