We are looking into pulling our 3rd grade daughter mid-year out of CCISD. We want her to have a more challenging academic environment . The last posting I see on this subject is a couple of years old. We are going to look at Lutheran South and Galloway. Anyone have experience in these schools (and others) at the elementary level. Heard good things about Lutheran South mostly at the upper level but not at the elementary school. Galloway seems like it has had some political/administrative problems over the past few years but I have not heard any news since administration changes a year ago.

One of my kids went to Lutheran his entire school time. The kid who went to public school seems to have walked away with the better education. However, that could be because of the school or because of the individual. Just depends on the environment your kid need to Grow intellectually.

I'm not aware of any academically elite private schools in that part of town (i.e. no peer of St. Johns, Kinkaid, Village, or Cooper). There are a few decent Christian schools in the area, but their appeal (to Christian families) is mainly the addition of Christian values, chapel and Bible instruction, as opposed to any real edge in secular academics over the better CCISD or FISD schools.

I wish I could help more. Now, I have no first hand knowledge of this but a client of mine suggested the area LSA is in is not a very nice area. I had sent them a property close to the area which they were not interested in and that was their reason. take it for what it's worth. I am not promoting that, just sharing. (thinking about this my thoughts would be, if this is true, it is probably more a dark hours issue being close to I-45)

also, I could only find recent 2014 reviews on LSA, two 5 stars and one 1 star. hardly enough info to go on. the one star suggested the classes are very big (as in 26 children or so) in LSA which if that is the case would suggest to me that it will be a challenging environment. challenging in the sense of actually getting that good education!

as for Galloway, I couldn't find anything recent. year old was the most recent and mostly talking about a let go Principal.

if you already found all that I apologize for not being more helpful.
