What are some good subdivisions to live in Stafford? How is the school system there? Opinions please. Thanks.

Don't know about individual subdivisions, but it's worth saying that Stafford does not have a city residential property tax.

The school district is also the only one in Texas that is municipally-run.

Default Stafford

This would be way down on the list for a place to live with kids

Stafford is basically all built out and has really become a lower middle class to low income area. I live close to Stafford, The Meadows, Missouri City, and Sugarland and would suggest either Sugarland or Missouri City if you want to raise a family in a nice area with good schools. I think Stafford is zoned to Dulles High School but I may be wrong.

Compared to other "suburban areas" of Houston, Stafford is near the bottom of the list. If you gave some more info about what you are looking for and why you are asking about Stafford then I could be more helpful.

Meadows Place is nice, houses are very reasonable and the schools are Meadows Elementary/Dulles Middle/Dulles High. Meadows Place was once a part of Stafford, but branched on its own awhile back. Unlike most areas in Fort Bend ISD you will likely not have to worry about a change in high school zoning as Meadows Place would be up in arms if they were ever zoned out of Dulles.

Most of Stafford is zoned to Stafford MSD schools, which are not Fort Bend ISD.

Some relatives of mine in San Antonio had asked me if there were new subdivisions in Stafford since they wanted to move and heard about the low taxes there. However, i didn't know much about Stafford. Does Meadows Place have low taxes also? If so, i can suggest that to them.

If you were going to live in that particular area then Meadows Place would be the best since it might have low taxes like Stafford. I just want to emphasis that this area of town is very ethnically diverse, lower income, and higher crime than say Sugarland and Missouri City.

Yeah, an average household in Meadows Place makes $82,000. Oh the humanity! I just want to emphasize that the area of Sugar Land is not very ethnically diverse, they think they are higher income and actually they have about double the crime or more of Meadows Place, which is the safest city in Fort Bend County.

Meadows Place might be perfectly nice but your statements about Sugar Land are not accurate.

Look up the demographics for Sugar Land compared to Meadows Place. Most people viewing this data would conclude that Sugar Land is ethnically diverse.

According to City Data, the Sugar Land crime index is 131 with the U.S. national average being 320.9. Higher means more crime.

The Meadows Place crime index is 104. Sugar Land does not have "double the crime" of Meadows Place.

By the way, Stafford's City Data crime index is 350.7.

I didn't realize Meadows Place had that high of a household income but I was mainly referring to the general area. Meadows Place may be insulated from the crime, but the area surrounding it is the problem. West Bellfort isn't a lovely stretch of road.
