Can anyone tell me where I might find an indoor swimming pool, preferably one suitable for small kids? We live on the west side so anywhere around here would be great. We just want to go the one time so we're not looking for a place that requires membership. Thanks!

There is one in sugar around Dairy Ashford. I do not know the name or if they require membership. My kids have gone to pool parties there. Also Swim Jim off Wilcrest.

During the summer, the First United Methodist Church on the Beltway near Westpark opens their Noah's Ark pool (shallow kids pool play area with spray toys, slides etc...best for kids under 7) as well as the normal lap type pool to the public. You have to pay a fee ($5 per person/day) to get in but they do not require a membership. However, it is not indoors.

Don't know if you will find a drop-in indoor pool. The Clay Road YMCA has indoor swimming but you would have to probably do swim lessons (don't have to be a member to do swim lessons) or be a member to use the pool for leisure. I really can't think a lot of pools (execept the above mentioned) that is just open to anyone without some sort of affiliation (ex...neighborhood or community pool or a membership based situation). Swim Jim is a swim school and I am pretty sure they don't have open swim.

Thanks for your replies everyone. There really doesn't seem to be much here for indoor drop in pools. We have an outdoor pool in our community but it's not really outdoor pool weather. My kids have been dying to go swimming since we got here and I keep having to say "not today". Most of the outdoor splash parks and waterparks don't open for months yet, I guess most people just swim in the summer? I thought in a city this size there would be a couple year round facilites with indoor splash park/pool activities. If anyone else has any suggestions I'd love to hear them.
