Hi All

I will be in Houston this week by myself for work and to start looking for a house. I was thinking about going to an Astros game. Is it legal for folks outside the stadium to buy/sell tix? I'm hoping just to pick up a cheap single ticket from someone with an extra. Any advice?

Tickets start at $7 dollars. No real reason to risk getting in trouble to buy a cheap ticket when they are already pretty cheap at the box office.

IN many cities it's not illegal to sell tix outside of a stadium, just not sure if Houston falls under that category.

Ticket scalping is legal but they have the right to throw you off the grounds. So they stick around across the street. One of them told me he could get me in for $5 when I was walking around there the other night.

Houston Astros tickets are very inexpensive. No need to go outside the normal ticket outlets.

Now if someone is selling Coke (note uppercase "C") or nachos for well under the stadium prices, let me know.

If it happens to be a sellout - not that this team's poised to sell out too many games this year - the guys hanging around outside might be the ticket, so to speak.

I went to a couple of Rockets games and while walking across the street like Jfe81 said I was hit up a half dozen times with tickets for sale.

But like others have said, the season is young, There are no sellouts. The box office has plenty of tickets of all price ranges right before the game. Or walk by early in the day when there are no lines at the box office.

You shouldnt have a problem getting one off the street. But its early in the season and many are still hopeful. I think the Astros are going to have a long year.
