Hi, does anybody know a good place near downtown Houston or Sugar Land area for English class? A friend of mine is coming to Houston from overseas and would like to find such a place. The desired time for the classes will be weekends or evenings. Has anyone had any experiences and would like to recommend one? Learned a lot of things from this forum, thanks.

There are free English classes offered at St. Laurence Catholic Church and St. Thomas Aquinus Catholic Church, both in the Sugar Land area. They are not religion classes, just English for second language learners, free classes.

For those of you that want to really learn English, LCC at UH is a great place. My wife went there when she came to the US in 2005, and then went on to UH. The problem there is that the program is not free, and it takes several semesters depending on your skills.
