Open air malls are wonderful in Ca. With the heat and humidity in Houston (Texas), not so much!
Who wants to shop while pools of sweat are pouring off you?

I'd have to agree! Coming from SoCal, I would say that I'd much more appreciate an air-conditioned mall to escape to in the heat of the summer months than an open-air mall. Even in San Diego, the open-air malls see less people during the occasional heat waves. No way would I shop at an open-air mall in Houston during the summer!

Fashion Island in Newport Bch, Ca. is one of my favorite places to shop...Put that here in Houston, and I'd never go near it.

Bal Harbor, north of Miami is open air. It's not the most pleasant place to shop for designer duds in the summer. Nothing like sticking to Versace jeans after walking around in the "open air."

Pearland Town Center is open air but as someone else mentioned in 100 degrees + it's no fun and who would want to try on clothes covered in sweat - yuck!

I guess we need a retractable-roof Galleria.
